Course Overview

LDPx™ targets mid to senior level leaders that are on or headed towards the executive team at their organizations. This refinement course takes on a full-circle approach using these key elements derived from the Markon Leadership Development Training Arc™ — Leading Self, Leading Teams, and Leading Strategy & Vision.

This live, interactive course consists of monthly, day-long sessions delivered by top Markon executives that feature morning workshops aligned to the Training Arc and afternoon peer advisory and coaching practicums.

If the first Friday of the month happens to fall on an Observed Holiday, that class will be held on an alternate date (denoted by an asterisk* below).

Our Facilitators

Steve Genn, PMP, BCC

Vice President

A Markon Vice President and certified executive coach, Steve combines his leadership skills and experience with his passion for developing rising executives.  He has facilitated Markon’s internal and external Leadership Development Program frequently since inception and has presented on this topic to CMAA, JETC and the National Contract Management Association. Steve currently holds the Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential and is a Board-Certified Executive Coach (BCC), as well as a certified Myers-Briggs® practitioner.

Steve Genn has over 25 years of program and project management experience. He leads Markon’s DoD portfolio, including OSD, USMC and WHS. In addition to Defense, Steve has supported clients in the IC, federal civilian, and commercial healthcare markets. He co-developed and facilitates Markon’s Leadership Development Program.

Steve previously worked at PwC, Cardinal Health, and several highly regarded management consulting firms. He received his MBA from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business and a BA from LSU, where he was commissioned through Air Force ROTC. Steve's military service included active duty as an Air Force Air Battle Manager, during which he flew missions in Desert Storm. He retired as a Colonel from the Air Force Reserves.

Leigh Valudes, CMQ OE, PMP, LEED AP

Vice President

A Markon Vice President, Leigh leads the Technical Solutions Group, which oversees Markon’s core competencies. During his more than 20 years in consulting, Leigh developed expertise in security, program, design, and construction management, strategic planning, mission analysis, performance-based requirements, energy and environmental policy, business operations, and training. Leigh has served as a top adviser and consultant to several NCR marquee federal clients, large-scale programs for private sector, state and local, and university clients. His vast experience led him to co-develop and facilitate Markon’s prestigious Leadership Development Program.

During the majority of his 24-year consulting experience, Leigh was embedded with key government agencies providing expertise in strategic planning, mission analysis and implementation, requirements programming, program management, design and construction management, business operations, and advisory services. Leigh has supported some of the largest campus programs in the DC metropolitan area including the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda, $5.5 billion Pentagon Renovation Program, and $4 billion Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Campus Program.

He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware majoring in both government and history and graduated from American University’s Washington National Semester Program with a focus on national and foreign policy. Leigh holds the Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential, the certified Manager of Quality with a focus in Organization Excellence (CMQ-OE) from the American Society of Quality, and is a LEED Accredited Professional certified by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Cancellation Policy

In the event you cannot attend a course you have registered for, you have a few options –

Cancel and request a refund: Requests must be emailed to markon.training@markonsolutions.com at least 30 days prior to the first day of class in order to receive a refund, less a $100 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued to "no-show's" who do not attend class and do not cancel within the allotted time period.

Change to another session date: Changing to a different session date is allowable at no cost if requested via email at least 30 days prior to the first day of class.
